Highlights of my Childhood
Time never stops for anyone. As we grow older our responsibilities increase and we forget to enjoy our lives. But as a Child we all have our most memorable moments and most cherished friendships. This is my story of my childhood days and my most cherished moments.
Born with a silver spoon and surrounded by people who are always protective and caring, I became a naughty and playful kid with all the luxuries in the world. As a kid I enjoyed my school days a lot. I remember standing out with friends outside the classroom for incomplete homework or being too talkative in class more than being a good student, truthfully I never was one. It was more fun to play during my lunch break rather than eating, and waiting curiously for the bell to ring to run out of class and going to eat ice cream (Golas) from the street vendor outside our school campus and enjoying it with my friends. One of my best memories from school was in 3rd standard when I acted in my first play as a Gang boss of a frog community and later played a terrorist gang boss then played the role of a King for many other plays for annual day and Christmas programs, guess being tall and chubby kid always had its perks when it came to drama roles.
Then came the days I got my exam report cards after my exams every quarter which usually had bad remarks, these are days I used to hide behind my grandma as my dad would get furious about my bad performance in the exams. I used to love the attention and care my grandma used shower me with. And I used to love the homemade food she prepares specially for me if I was coming that day. Apart from school, I have always enjoyed my family reunions mostly my father’s side, with a bunch of cousins my age, we always had fun playing around the house, eating and fighting for food and had all the fun and frolic possible as kids. I remember the day I got my first Bicycle and how my friends and I used to race in them. I also remember every Birthday party my dad threw for me inviting all my family and friends, the gifts I got and love everyone showed me. I still cherish the video tapes my dad made of those special birthdays.
As I grew up I became more fond of video games and computers and till date playing Mario and Contra with my Brother is one my best times I’ve always had. My brother and I used to fight a lot especially when it came to food and games but these little things made us the good friends we are now.
Later when my dad moved to Bangalore, I used to stay with him during my summer vacation and that’s when I met some of my best friends whose friendship I still cherish and would always remember. These were the times we sat in our apartment terrace drinking Pepsi and eating chips chatting for hours, this was always more fun than talking on Facebook. The best time of every year would always be during Diwali with all my friends bursting crackers and going out for midnight snacks and laughing like mad guys for silly jokes.
Life as a child will always bring joyful tears and helps everyone in their bad times and sorrows. I would always remember my childhood days as a naughty school kid, a grandma’s loving grandson and my parent’s little brat and would also always cherish the friendships I made back then forever.
He he. I can relate :)
